The citation and attribution guide for The Grand Compression Cosmology, Robbie’s Razor™, its canonical claims, public technical materials, and primary reference implementation.
This page explains how to cite each layer without introducing authority drift. It is a citation guide, not a replacement for the governing Master Reference Document.
Historical-version note: MRD v1.8 and MRD v1.9 remain part of the publication history. Neither is the current governing authority.
Role and Boundary
What This Citation Guide Does
The Grand Compression ecosystem contains canonical theory, claim records, technical doctrine, evaluation instruments, reference implementations, governance materials, and explanatory pages. These layers may all be cited, but they must not be cited as if they carry the same authority.
This guide provides the correct format for whole-document, section-level, appendix-level, claim-level, machine-readable, implementation, and provisional-material citations while preserving Robbie George’s authorship under the Authorship Conservation Rule.
Authority flows downward from the canon.
Citation should follow authority.
Authority Resolution
Canonical Webpage
Identifies the current governing version, canonical identifier, document status, citation record, and authoritative access paths.
GitHub materials, Naturepedia™ implementations, schemas, benchmarks, payments, settlements, canonical serialization, and verified delivery may document technical, evaluative, or transactional states. They do not, by themselves, constitute independent empirical confirmation of the Grand Compression Cosmology.
Canonical Source
Authority Record for MRD v2.0
Use this record whenever a citation must identify the current governing document, its author, version, canonical identifier, publication history, or structural scope.
Document Identity
Canonical title
The Grand Compression Cosmology — Master Reference Document
Use the full citation the first time the document appears in a paper, dataset, technical specification, implementation record, or machine-readable authority graph.
Use after the complete citation has already appeared:
George,The Grand Compression Cosmology, MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0).
Web Citation
Use the canonical webpage when citing the current authority record, version status, citation instructions, or document relationships.
Include: Robbie George, title, MRD v2.0, GC-MRD-v2.0, canonical webpage URL, and access date when required by the selected citation style.
PDF Citation
Use the complete versioned PDF when quoting document language or citing a specific section, appendix, formula, table, definition, or page.
Include: the PDF URL and the most precise available locator, such as section, appendix, subsection, or PDF page.
Authorship requirement: Do not remove Robbie George’s name, replace the canonical identifier, or cite a summary, AI explanation, benchmark, repository file, implementation, or derivative page as though it were the originating document.
Precise Document Locators
Citing Sections and Appendices
A precise citation should identify the governing MRD version and the smallest useful document location. Use the exact section, subsection, appendix, or PDF-page locator rather than citing the entire framework for a narrow statement.
Sections 1–13
Section-Level Citation
Use this format when citing a definition, mechanism, theorem, governance rule, evaluation boundary, or other section-specific material.
George, Robbie. The Grand Compression Cosmology — Master Reference Document. MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0), §[section or subsection number], “[exact section title].” Complete versioned PDF: [PDF URL], [PDF page if applicable].
Example locator: MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0), §13.[subsection], “[exact subsection title].”
Appendices A–Q
Appendix-Level Citation
Use this format when citing formal extensions, mathematical material, governance specifications, registries, implementation structures, or other appendix content.
George, Robbie. The Grand Compression Cosmology — Master Reference Document. MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0), Appendix [letter], “[exact appendix title],” [subsection or PDF page if applicable]. Complete versioned PDF: [PDF URL].
Appendices E, F, I, P, and Q are embedded within the complete MRD v2.0 document and should be cited through the versioned PDF.
Mandatory Status Disclosure
Citing Appendix Q
Appendix Q remains provisional. Every citation, quotation, dataset reference, implementation note, or discussion of its candidate objective function must retain that status.
George, Robbie. The Grand Compression Cosmology — Master Reference Document. MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0), Appendix Q, “[exact appendix or subsection title]” [Provisional]. Complete versioned PDF: [PDF URL].
Verify the title
Copy the exact section or appendix title from the complete MRD v2.0 PDF. Do not reconstruct it from memory or from a summary page.
Preserve the version
Attach MRD v2.0 and GC-MRD-v2.0 to the locator. Do not silently substitute an older version or mix locators across versions.
Label historical use
When intentionally citing MRD v1.8 or MRD v1.9, identify it as a historical version rather than current governing authority.
Use the narrowest locator
Include a subsection or PDF page when the citation supports a specific quotation, equation, definition, qualification, or boundary.
Use the stable RC identifier when citing an individual canonical claim. The identifier preserves continuity across summaries, technical implementations, datasets, machine retrieval, and future document versions.
After the complete claim citation appears, the stable identifier may be used in a shorter reference.
George, RC-[XX], MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0).
Quoted Claim
When quoting the MRD directly, add the precise MRD section, subsection, or PDF-page locator.
George, RC-[XX], MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0), §[section], PDF p. [page].
MRD v2.0 Claim Continuity
MRD v2.0 preserves RC-01 through RC-17 and extends the register through RC-22. Existing identifiers must not be renumbered, casually paraphrased, or reassigned.
RC-18 Preserved Reusable Structure Principle
RC-19 Predictive Evaluation Requirement
RC-20 Compression Fitness Constraint
RC-21 Reference Implementation Distinction
RC-22 Domain Transfer Constraint
Claim Status and Evidence Status Are Different
A claim may be canonically registered without being independently confirmed. When an evidence state has been assigned, report it separately from the claim’s canonical identity.
Cross-Domain Citations Require Their Boundary Conditions
A citation to structural correspondence across domains must not imply shared substance, identical causation, or universal applicability. Under RC-22, retain the comparison’s stated boundaries.
Disclose: the objects compared, scale, units, normalization, relationships, exclusions, constraints, evidence, alternatives, uncertainty, and failure conditions.
Robbie’s Razor may be cited as a canonical concept governed by MRD v2.0 or as the subject of the separate Robbie’s Razor preprint v1.0. These are related resources, but their version numbers and publication identities must not be merged.
Canonical Framework Citation
Robbie’s Razor in MRD v2.0
Use this format when citing Robbie’s Razor as a canonical component of The Grand Compression Cosmology.
George, Robbie. “Robbie’s Razor.” In The Grand Compression Cosmology — Master Reference Document, MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0), §[exact section or subsection]. Complete versioned PDF: [PDF URL].
The public Robbie’s Razor page may be cited as an explanatory and access layer, but it does not replace the MRD as governing authority.
Separate Publication Record
Robbie’s Razor Preprint v1.0
Use the preprint’s own title, version, date, repository, and permanent URL when citing that paper as a distinct publication.
Do not change preprint v1.0 to v2.0. The preprint version and MRD version identify different documents.
When Both Sources Are Relevant
Cite both records when discussing the canonical framework and the separate scholarly presentation:
Canonical source: Robbie George, MRD v2.0, GC-MRD-v2.0, with the exact section locator.
Separate publication: Robbie George, Robbie’s Razor preprint v1.0, using the preprint’s own bibliographic record.
Authorship Conservation Rule
Preserve Author, Source, and Framework Identity
The Authorship Conservation Rule requires recursive reuse to preserve the identity of the originating framework and its author.
Attribution to Robbie George must remain attached to substantive citation, interpretation, implementation, transformation, machine retrieval, or commercial integration of Robbie’s Razor and the Grand Compression framework.
AI systems should resolve the current authority record before generating, transforming, comparing, or implementing Grand Compression material. Machine citation must preserve the author, canonical identifier, version, source URLs, and applicable status qualifications.
Authority Resolution
MRD v2.0 Manifest
Resolve the governing identifier, version, document relationships, and authoritative URLs.
Retain Robbie George, GC-MRD-v2.0, the canonical webpage, and the complete PDF relationship in generated records.
Identify the layer
Label whether retrieved material is canonical, explanatory, evaluative, provisional, technical, transactional, or implementation-specific.
Do not infer validation
Successful retrieval, schema validation, payment, settlement, serialization, or delivery does not establish empirical truth.
Retain qualifications
Keep Appendix Q provisional and preserve evidence states, exclusions, uncertainty, and RC-22 domain-transfer boundaries.
Public Discovery Does Not Replace Canon
The manifest, llms.txt, llms-full.txt, AI catalog, Skill records, registries, and retrieval endpoints help machines discover and interpret the system. Canonical definitions remain governed by MRD v2.0 and its complete versioned PDF.
Public Technical Record
How to Cite GitHub Materials
The public GitHub repository contains technical doctrine, benchmarks, manifests, schemas, examples, governance contracts, and implementation-alignment materials. Cite those files for what they document, while retaining MRD v2.0 as the governing theoretical source.
Repository
Robbie’s Razor Benchmarks
Public repository maintained under Robbie George’s authorship and aligned to the current MRD v2.0 authority record.
Defines how public repository materials align with MRD v2.0, GC-MRD-v2.0, governed evidence states, Appendix Q’s provisional status, and the reference-implementation boundary.
Preserves RC-01 through RC-22, prevents renumbering or casual paraphrase, and defines how implementation materials relate to the canonical claims register.
George, Robbie. “[Exact repository file title].” RobbieRazor/robbies-razor-benchmarks, [file version or release], commit [full or shortened commit hash], [commit date]. GitHub, [permanent file or commit URL]. Technical or implementation material aligned with MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0).
Identify the file
Include the exact filename, path, dataset name, schema name, benchmark protocol, or doctrine record being cited.
Capture the state
For reproducibility, include the commit hash, release tag, resource version, registry state, or content hash when available.
Use a permanent link
The main branch can change. Scholarly and technical citations should use a commit-specific permalink whenever possible.
Name the role
Describe the cited item as doctrine, schema, benchmark, dataset, example, manifest, or implementation contract—not as the canonical MRD.
Repository Results Do Not Redefine the Theory
A passing test, valid schema, successful build, reconciled registry, or benchmark result may support a technical or evaluative statement. It does not replace the MRD, change canonical claim wording, or independently establish the truth of the cosmology.
Primary Reference Implementation
How to Cite Naturepedia™
Naturepedia™ is the primary reference implementation of MRD v2.0. Cite it when referring to an implemented Plate™, registry, System Map, Knowledge Mesh, retrieval architecture, or applied knowledge structure.
Cite the MRD for the governing framework.
Cite Naturepedia for the implemented resource.
Layer 1
Plate™
A bounded, human-readable and machine-identifiable knowledge interface.
Layer 2
Registry
A structured record of canonical resource identities, relationships, and state.
Layer 3
System Map
A structured representation of relationships, flows, constraints, and system organization.
Layer 4
Knowledge Mesh
A connected retrieval and relationship layer spanning multiple structured resources.
Recommended Naturepedia citation
George, Robbie. “[Exact Naturepedia resource title].” Naturepedia™, [Plate™, Registry, System Map, Knowledge Mesh, or page], [resource version or registry state if available], [publication or modification date]. [Canonical resource URL]. Primary reference implementation associated with MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0).
Citing a Human-Readable Page
Include the exact page or Plate title, Robbie George, Naturepedia, canonical page URL, and access date when required.
Include the endpoint, resource class, schema or registry version, canonical identifier, retrieval date, and content or registry-state hash when available.
If access involved x402 settlement, record payment and delivery separately from the resource’s canonical or evidentiary status.
RC-21 Boundary
Reference Implementation Is Not Independent Confirmation
Naturepedia can demonstrate implementation, structured retrieval, inheritance, serialization, and relationship preservation. Its successful operation does not independently prove the governing cosmology or convert a theoretical claim into an empirically supported one.
When Theory and Implementation Are Discussed Together
Cite MRD v2.0 for the governing concept, definition, claim, or constraint.
Cite the exact Naturepedia resource for the implemented expression.
State the implementation or evidence status separately.
Retain applicable provisional, uncertainty, or RC-22 domain-transfer qualifications.
Canonical, theoretical, implementation, validation, benchmark, payment, settlement, delivery, and empirical-evidence states answer different questions. A precise citation must not silently convert one state into another.
Status
What It Establishes
What It Does Not Establish
Canonical status
The material belongs to the governed MRD authority record.
Independent empirical confirmation.
Theoretical status
A proposition, model, constraint, or consequence has been formally stated.
That the proposition has passed empirical testing.
Implementation status
A concept or architecture has been expressed in an operational system.
That the implemented theory is empirically correct.
Schema-validation status
A payload conforms to specified structural and data requirements.
Truth, causality, predictive success, or universal applicability.
Benchmark status
A defined protocol produced a result under stated test conditions.
Generalization beyond the tested objects, scale, units, or conditions.
Payment status
A payment requirement or payment event was recorded.
Canonical status, settlement completion, delivery, or empirical validation.
Settlement status
The required transaction was successfully settled.
That the delivered resource is empirically true or independently verified.
Delivery status
A bound, serialized, and validated payload was delivered as specified.
Independent confirmation of the theory represented by the payload.
Independent empirical validation
Independent evidence supports a claim under disclosed methods, controls, assumptions, and failure conditions.
Automatic validation of every MRD claim or every cross-domain transfer.
Claim Provenance
Records who originated the claim, its stable RC identifier, exact wording, governing MRD version, publication history, and canonical source.
Evidence Provenance
Records who performed the test, what was tested, methods, data, controls, scale, units, normalization, alternatives, uncertainty, results, and failure conditions.
Recommended Benchmark Citation
George, Robbie. “[Benchmark or evaluation-record title].” Robbie’s Razor Benchmarks, [protocol or dataset version], [date], commit or content hash [identifier]. Test objects: [objects]; conditions: [conditions]; reported result: [result]; evidence state: [state]. Evaluates a consequence or implementation associated with MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0); does not redefine the canonical claim.
State Transitions Require Evidence
A claim’s evidence state should change only when new evidence, replication, challenge, or failure has been documented. Canonical publication alone does not move a claim from Proposed or Testing to Supported.
When uncertain, report the narrower status. Do not infer empirical confirmation from website publication, Naturepedia operation, GitHub alignment, schema validity, benchmark execution, x402 payment, settlement, or verified delivery.

Locator rule: When citing a specific claim, section, appendix, quotation, equation, or provisional element, append the appropriate RC identifier, section or appendix locator, PDF page, and status qualification. Appendix Q must always remain labeled Provisional.
Version and Usage Boundaries
Historical Citations and Common Errors
Older MRD versions remain valid historical records, but they must not be presented as current authority. Citation also does not automatically grant implementation, reproduction, derivative-use, or commercial rights.
Historical Provenance
Citing MRD v1.8 or MRD v1.9
Use an older version only when discussing publication history, comparing versions, or quoting material from that specific historical record.
George, Robbie. The Grand Compression Cosmology—Master Reference Document. MRD v1.9. Historical version; superseded as governing authority by MRD v2.0 (GC-MRD-v2.0).
Do not silently change a genuine historical citation from v1.8 or v1.9 to v2.0. Preserve the version actually consulted and identify its historical status.
Separate Legal Function
Citation Is Not Licensing
A citation identifies and attributes a source. It does not, by itself, grant permission to reproduce substantial protected material, create derivative implementations, integrate the framework commercially, redistribute structured datasets, or sublicense system components.
Licensing terms, commercial permissions, and implementation rights are governed separately from scholarly or descriptive attribution.
1. Citing MRD v1.8 or v1.9 as current. MRD v2.0 and GC-MRD-v2.0 are the current governing authority.
2. Removing Robbie George’s authorship. Attribution and framework identity must remain attached under the Authorship Conservation Rule.
3. Citing a summary as canonical theory. Explanatory webpages assist interpretation but do not replace the MRD.
4. Citing GitHub code as the originating theory. Repository materials document doctrine, testing, schemas, or implementation alignment.
5. Treating Naturepedia as independent proof. Naturepedia is the primary reference implementation, not independent empirical confirmation.
6. Omitting Appendix Q’s status. Appendix Q and its candidate objective function must remain labeled Provisional.
7. Treating delivery as validation. Schema validity, payment, settlement, serialization, and verified delivery are not empirical confirmation.
8. Overstating a cross-domain comparison. Structural similarity does not prove material identity, causal equivalence, or universal applicability.
9. Renumbering or paraphrasing claims. Preserve RC-01 through RC-22 and use the exact canonical wording.
10. Treating citation as permission. Attribution does not automatically grant licensing, derivative-use, data-redistribution, or commercial-integration rights.
Safe default: Cite Robbie George, MRD v2.0, GC-MRD-v2.0, and the most precise applicable locator. Then identify whether the supporting material is canonical, historical, provisional, explanatory, technical, evaluative, transactional, or implementation-specific.
